Welcome to my Blog!

April 7th 2025.

Well!! So lovely to have you reading this! This is a first for me, never done a blog...ever!  First of all, I have been on my own working on this website for what seems an age!  My son is the techy one, but he is always busy doing techy stuff, so I have had to rely on help from those who know these things!

Spring at last is on it's way, the sun is shining at last.  Last Thursday eveing, I was invited to give a talk on 'Propagation, Splitting dividing, Identification at The Corfe Castle Garden Club, I have never seen the village before and it is so pretty.  Lovely bunch of people.  I talked about various herbs and how they behave upon being asked to grow roots for one!  The main thing to learn is in the nodes on the stems of any plant, this is where the leaves grow from, and if you run your finger down the stem, you'll feel them.  Once the leaves from the bottom of the stem, about 2 - 4 nodes, have been removed, depending on the length of your cutting, cut under the bottom node and then there are 4 nodes in all that could possibly give roots once planted very securely into a well drained growing medium.  Do not make these cuttings sopping wet, just moist to the touch and mist spray, keeping them sheltered. How long do they take to root?  It depends on the plant, whether it's a woody cutting or a soft one, what variety of plant it is.  However, should you wish for more info, give me a shout!
